The Benefits Of A Spiritual Mentorship

I have spent the last 20 years of this life deeply wrestling with the big questions of life. What is this place? Why am I here? How did I get here? Where am I going after? What is the point of it, if there is one? Why am I struggling and how do I fix it? How is anything possible? And what is a thing, like what is matter really and what is space and time and all of it? What was before the big bang and who made it bang in the first place?

From the experience of learning and continuing to unfold through 3 different traditions, I ultimately approach life and medicine from the worldview that everything is one divine and infinite, dynamic pulsing Consciousness that is endlessly expressing its endless potential in endless ways through endless worlds. That what we call ‘inner and outer, above and below’ is really one seamless creative flow of energy, information and form that is creating beings and worlds to dance with and evolve in for the very fact that it can. Self-realization through Self-expression.

Each of us is a unique and sacred expression of that potential in this tapestry of creation and everything has an intrinsic worth and right to be that is not determined by culturally constructed value systems. That said, part of this dance of reality is our divine nature concealing itself from itself and experiencing the illusion of separation in the forms of suffering, confusion, grief, doubt, fear and hate. After many, many lifetimes of this suffering usually, the time comes that we are done learning the lessons mundane reality offers and begin to earnestly question the bigger picture of what is really going on here. Often unbeknownst to us, the tides in the course of our souls journey have now turned and we have begun walking the path of unfolding unto our higher nature. The path to true Spiritual Illumination is a healing process in itself that is walked not by simply stilling the mind to reach some transcendent state but by facing, healing, transmuting and beautifying our Shadow.

What I can offer as a mentor on the journey with you is any and all of the work I do, but specifically catered to aid those seeking their personal healing as a direct and integral part of their path of spiritual development. Regardless of what spiritual path you are on, traditions you follow or practices you do, we will work with what stage of the journey you are at and move forward from places you may feel stuck, confused or lost at.

This means having someone there to hold you accountable and point out where you may be avoiding and spiritually bypassing. To have someone that has been through it and is there to talk with and guide you through real dark night of the soul shadow work, with non-judgmental love and compassion. To have a voice of reason, tools to ground and integrate the process as well as simply having the space to communicate the bizarre things that naturally unfold as par the path.

I offer this because it is something that would have been helpful and that I wish I had for parts of my journey. We are all walking each other home as Ram Das said and I offer my hand in the ancient chain of transmission to those called as my hand has been and still is held by those before me. So, whether we are going it alone or maybe stuck in a potentially unhealthy student/teacher relationship and need third party reflection or just need someone to talk to these things about, you're not alone. 

It can be extremely comforting, helpful and even necessary I would argue for real progress to be made...to have someone outside of our own egos echo chamber to help guide us. By its very nature, our lower nature will avoid acknowledging itself as the very thing in the way of making progress and will thus find every possible way to justify not looking at the very roadblocks that need to be addressed. It sees doing such a thing as a death to it or at the least a threat to it’s illusion of control and in many ways it is, but a necessary small death for real growth to unfold.
